I must be dreaming, at least that's what I keep telling myself. The odds of GeoMata winning the Android Challenge are 37 to 1.
Or they were until Saturday, when Dan Morrill announced in a thread on the android-challenge list that they had vetted it down to the final 100, and those would be re-evaluated this week and parred down to the final 50 winners.
Since GeoMata is a client/server app, I immediately checked our server logs. Sure enough, we are still getting hits from judges, one from Samsung last night and another from Taiwan, plus two more from the Bay area.
So I'm taking this as a good indicator that we've made it into the final 100, and now GeoMata is just a coin toss away from being a winner. I didn't dare to dream that I could possibly win, but now I'm on the edge of my seat.
Hell, even if we don't win, this is some solid vindication of our idea, and that the app has legs, and that's plenty that we can be proud of.
I expect we will hear the results sometime on Friday (May 9th). I probably won't be sleeping much until then.
